Buruburu Institute of Fine Arts (BIFA) was established in 1993 under the management of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. In May 10th 1993, BIFA opened its doors to admit its first intake of 60 students pursuing different disciplines of Arts.The institute was a dream seen to fulfilment by the first Director the late Fr.Thomas Burke.

The institute commenced with a 2 year internal certificate programme and has since adopted a 3 year Diploma programme examined by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).

Since its commencement, the institute has trained thousands of young artist and  designers. It is our hope that BIFA will be able to reach many more talented artists to enhance their God give skills.
